Bún chả is a culinary delight from the Vietnamese cuisine, a succulent dish made of grilled pork (Bún!) and white rice noodles (Chả!), originally from the north of the country.

A specialty that is found in every corner of Hanoi, usually eaten on the streets of the busy capital, a street food experience that will allow you to step a little more in the culture of the Asian country!

I remember the first time I tried the delicious and intense flavor of the Bún chả, served by an old lady who, on the corner of a street in Hanoi old quarter, was cooking the pig on a grill that had surely seen tons of meat on its crusty meshes.

The pork that is marinated and then grilled is served dipped in a rather liquid sweet and sour sauce made of fish sauce, vinegar, sugar, garlic, hot pepper and salt.

To complete the culinary work of art the old lady added on the small and low table of aluminum the typical side dishes that go to complete the course, like salad and fresh herbs, spicy pepper, garlic and sliced lime. Usually the dish is accompanied by Vietnamese spring rolls.

To eat it, dip the rice noodles in the broth and eat everything together, munching some fresh herbs, adding chili and lime to taste. A really pleasant and unique taste.

For those who do not feel like trying the adventure in one of the stalls and its street food, the Bún chả is also served at the local restaurants.

Definitely a dish not suitable for vegetarians, despite having heard of some variations that could be digested even by those who do not eat meat or who is vegan.
